Cumberland Heights offers both in-patient and out-patient services for individuals as well as support programs for family members. We currently provide treatment services in 7 locations throughout
Tennessee and have 300+ employees.
The Associate Counselor is responsible for providing one or more core counseling functions (i.e., assessment, orientation, case management, counseling, patient education, etc.) for a group of
patients or family members. This position works under the clinical supervision of a LADAC clinical supervisor or other independently licensed individual.
The primary duties and responsibilities include:
• Provides information to patients or family members regarding clinical programs and services including content, schedules, guidelines, etc.
• Processes initial registration, fees and drug screens for patients and/or family members as assigned.
• Facilitates patient self-assessments of nutritional and activity status as needed.
• Conducts clinical interviews and, in conjunction with patient, develops treatment plan to meet identified needs, reviewing with supervisor as needed.
• Conducts individual, group and family counseling sessions under supervision as noted above.
• Coordinates case management activities via a variety of internal departments/staff and external communications (referral sources, EAPs, other professionals) to ensure continuum of care.
• Intervenes in clinical and community crises in such a manner as to use crises for therapeutic value.
• Participates in team meetings and treatment plan review.
• Assists in monitoring and managing patient community as a therapeutic milieu.
• Provides psycho-education to groups regarding addiction and recovery related topics.
• Assists in de-escalation and management of crises, including performing CPR and First Aid as needed.
• Documents pertinent clinical information into the electronic patient record.
• Transports patients and operates company vehicles within the guidelines of the Fleet Management Safety Program.
• Maintains confidentiality of company and patient information.
